Black, Brown, and Beige Jazz Mentorship Program- with the namesake paying homage to one of Duke Ellington’s many masterworks- is a program aimed to connect students of music programs within HBCUs across the country with top jazz musicians and show them through clinics and workshops the connections between jazz music and themselves. The program teaches swing, blues, improvisation, amongst other elements of jazz and mentors get to speak with students on the experiences of the bandstand and the process of learning the artform.
